Laurel Shand joined the firm in 2021 and brings with her more than three decades of legal experience to her role as a litigation paralegal Peter Matwiczyk. A native Floridian, Laurel has extensive and nuanced knowledge of Florida’s legal system and court proceedings, on both state and federal levels. Laurel has successfully assisted attorneys in Palm Beach County since 1991 within a multitude of areas such as workers’ compensation, criminal defense, family law, personal injury, insurance defense, complex construction litigation, Italian citizenship, estate planning, probate, guardianship, and trusts.
Laurel has worked extensively at deepening her understanding of the complexity of Florida law and is currently pursuing an outside interest in Florida real estate. Laurel enjoys listening to music, cooking, baking, gardening, and spending quality time with her son, a student at Palm Beach State College with engineering as his career path.
