George D. Lagos

George D. Lagos joins Boyes, Farina & Matwiczyk with more than 18 years of litigation and counseling experience, and focuses his practice on trusts, estates, and probate litigation. He represents fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and families through will and trust contests, guardianship disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and contested probate administration, bringing a trial lawyer’s approach to matters that are often as personal as they are legal.

George began his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington, where he rowed as a freshman, before transferring to the University of Pennsylvania, where he continued rowing and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law, where he participated in the school’s Litigation Skills program and served on its Honor Council. He is admitted to practice in Florida, Washington, Missouri, and Kansas, and is fluent in Greek.

Before joining the firm, George served as a Senior Assistant City Attorney for the City of Boynton Beach, where he handled a broad civil litigation docket spanning premises liability and tort defense, federal civil rights (§ 1983) litigation, and civil asset forfeiture proceedings, along with appearances before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Earlier in his career, he was a partner and of counsel at several Palm Beach County firms, where he represented institutional lenders, insurers, and corporate clients in real estate, commercial, and insurance coverage disputes. He began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida’s Fifteenth Judicial Circuit, trying misdemeanor, felony, and juvenile cases to verdict.

George is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, where he previously served as a Board Member of the North County Section.

George lives in Palm Beach Gardens with his wife, a public defender, their three children, and their Cavapoo puppy. He grew up in the Pacific Northwest in a family that operated a Greek restaurant, an upbringing that instilled in him an appreciation for hard work and hospitality that carries into his client relationships today. Outside the office, George is an avid home cook and strength-training enthusiast, and enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
